Hello everyone!!! I'm soooo excited to share the very first Immunity Projects with you all!! The ladies here on the island did an awesome job! It's anybody's for the taking!

First I want you all to know how we are going to do voting this time around. I had multiple issues last time so I think this will be the best way. I've set the comments to moderate so to vote just comment with your # choice to win immunity! I will approve the comments before I post the winner so there isn't any undue influence! ;)

Those of you competing... You are allowed (and encouraged to vote!) however...You are NOT allowed to vote for yourself... So choose wisely...Because the winner will be safe from elimination (so long as they turn their project in on time!)

Welcome to the Island ♥

Good Morning everyone!!!
Well it's official! The great 8 made the long journey and they have finally arrived on the Island!!! This is a FABULOUS group of crafters and I bet we will be amazed by what they make on their stay here!!

 

So their very first "Immunity" challenge is coming up! They are due to me by no later then 11:59 pm (eastern) on Friday March 29, 2013! And what will they be doing you ask? Well good thing you did...because they don't know yet either!!

 

For this first challenge *if they choose to do it...and why not...could save them!* is simply this. They need to make a "Welcome Sign" for their hut! I want them to be extremely creative and think outside of the box! Oh that's it? NO...Heaven's have you learned nothing while here last year? They must incorporate some type of wooden element...Be it a tooth-pick or their sign is literally made out of wood I don't care...But there must be something wooden there or it will NOT make it into the voting! Oh and one more thing... Have fun with it!!! :)

 

Can't wait to see all these "Welcome Signs"!!

A change is a' comin....

Good Morning, Islanders!

It is with a heavy heart that I find myself needing to make some changes here on the Island for the upcoming season. I've just recently (as in this morning) heard about some shady things going on in the back of the Island under the palm trees.

Therefore I am taking pay-to-play off the table.. This season will be a free season as last season was. I will be the sole sponsor for this season. So our "Sole Survivor" this time around will have a chance at winning not only some fabulous "LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbons" but also a prize pack filled with all kinds of crafty goodness!

As far as voting goes this season there will be changes as well. I haven't completely ironed everything out yet but I will before the season starts and make sure everyone is aware of how things will go. Different problems arose last season as far as the poll voting so I guess we live and learn and roll with the punches!

My main goal here on the Island is to do my best to make this a FUN & FAIR experience for all involved. I will do my best to handle situations but I can only do this if I am aware of the problems. That being said if anyone ever has a question, comment or concern I ask that you PLEASE email me at papercraftisland@gmail.com so I can address these things as they come up rather then finding out after the fact!

Because of these changes I will be extending the call to start until Feb 15. If anyone who has currently signed up to play decides that they do not wish to please let me know asap.

I look forward to Season #2 and hope that everyone enjoys and has a good time playing (or watching from the sidelines!)

Postcard from the Island

Hello Mainlanders!!!
Happy 2013!!! I hope this new year finds you in good health, some extra $$ in your pocket and lots and lots of Crafty-ness!!! :)

It's been a few months out here on the Island all alone...I'm dying for some company...So.... I'm inviting you out for Season #2 of PCI!!!!

Can I get a WHOO HOO :)

Things will be a little bit different this time around. I've decided instead of getting sponsors this season will be a "pay to play" and have a cash prize!!! Now how about that?? Who doesn't want a chance to win some money???

So this seasons "Pay to Play" will be $5. If we get 12 players then the grand prize winner will get $60! Sounds like a good deal if you ask me! (and you'll notice I am NOT keeping any money for myself! I'm not in this to make money...I'm in it for the fun!!!  :) The 2 runner ups will not leave this island empty handed though... They will each get their choice of collection of my new "LoveBug Creations Rumple Ribbon" found HERE! By the end of this season we will most likely have even  more collections to choose from!!! :)

So what do you need to do? Email me at papercraftisland@gmail.com with your desire to join. Attach a photo of your all time favorite project along with your name and why you want to join us!  You must have a paypal account in order to send your $5 and receive your winnings should you be our grand prize winner!!! Please only apply if you are serious about staying on the Island.... Last season took awhile to get into because people kept dropping like flies!

I'd like to have our 12 contestants ready to go Feb 1!!! So you've got time to decide! As always this will be anonymous (unless you'd like me to reveal you at the end!!!) The rest of the rules will be the same as before as well as the general schedule idea! Both are listed on the side of the blog up on the top right! :)

I truly hope we will have another awesome season of "Paper Craft Island" and I can't wait to hear from you all!!!

I can't not THANK you all enough for making this very first season of PCI fun, exciting, and memorable!!! I met some people through this that have become dear friends and I couldn't have asked for a better group of crafters!!

Each week they impressed me more and more with their creativity! One just has to take a look back at the projects to see all the time, thought and heart that went into each and every one!!!

The votes for the final competition broke down like this: #1 - 30, #2- 11 and #3- 11! Our special jury choose #3 to receive 5 extra votes bringing #3's total votes to 16!!!

The Finals

Good Morning Islanders & Beach goers!!!

It's hard to believe it's time to see the final projects! This has been an awesome 3 months! Season #1 has totally blown me away with their talent! But like all good things the Island must come to an end...

But not before rocking out another challenge! :)

This week (and yes they truly only had 1 week to make these!) I issued 3 challenges to our final 3! I will only be posting 2 of the challenges today! Challenge one was to use only products they had previously send me photos of to make a card or layout. Challenge 2 was to make a Christmas themed postcard from the Island! Their 3rd challenge was to make a sign that I will post to announce the winner!!! Each person will have a photo collage for their first photo..It has the biggest picture as what the made and the smaller photos around it of what they sent me that the had to choose from to use!  There may be multiple photos for their other project!!! :)

Voting this week will be handled a little differently. I'm still trying to figure out a way to make this work and I think I've finally got it... SO...TO VOTE FOR WHO YOU THINK SHOULD WIN PCI SEASON #1 PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT ON THIS POST! I will have it set so that comments will NOT appear until I approve them...and I will not approve them until voting is over. This way no one can be influenced on who votes for who! I will send vote counts out to my final 3 through out the weekend so they know where they stand! Comments will go from NOW until SUNDAY NOV. 11 at 11:59 pm. Any comments after that time WILL NOT COUNT!

BUT WAIT...

What's a final vote on the Island without a twist??? I also have a JURY vote... The winner of the jury vote will actually receive an extra 5 votes.... :)
